Immerse yourself in the mesmerizing beauty of Robert Gendler's "Stellar Nursery in Monoceros (NGC 2170)"
This breathtaking two-frame mosaic captures the vibrant and intricate details of the nebula NGC 2170, located in the constellation Monoceros. Known as a stellar nursery, NGC 2170 is a site of active star formation where dust and gas coalesce to create new stars, illuminating the surrounding region with their radiant glow.
Captured using advanced remote imaging technology at Moorook Observatory, Australia (an affiliation of New Mexico Skies), this image spans 45 hours of LRGB (Luminance, Red, Green, Blue) exposure. It was acquired with a 14.5" RCOS telescope equipped with Ion Milled Optics and an SBIG STL-11000XM camera, meticulously processed using CCDAutoPilot2 software. The vibrant colors and intricate structures of the nebula are brought to life, showcasing the dynamic processes of star formation.
Perfect for astronomy enthusiasts, cosmic art admirers, and those fascinated by the wonders of the universe, this print brings the celestial glow of NGC 2170 into your home, office, or educational space.
