Ordering
& delivery

Shipping policy →
How long does an order to the USA take?

Nothing sits in a warehouse waiting for you — every print is made after you order it. Production takes 2–4 business days, delivery adds a few more. Door to door, that is typically 5–9 business days, fully tracked. No surprise customs charges.

Will I pay customs, duties or import fees?

No. What you pay at checkout is the whole price. We print through a network of labs, so your order is made and posted inside your own customs area and nothing is collected at the door.

Which countries do you ship to?

Almost all of them. A few products are limited to the EU, the USA and Canada — where that applies it is stated on the product page and again at checkout, before you pay.

How much is shipping?

It depends on where the parcel goes, how large the print is and which service you pick. Add the print you want to the cart and the exact amount appears there, before payment.

Can I track my parcel?

Yes. A tracking link goes out by e-mail the moment the parcel leaves us. If it has stopped moving, send us the order number and we will chase the carrier the same day.

Can I still change or cancel my order?

Write to support@astrography.com as quickly as you can. Until the file goes to the printer we can change the size, the finish or the address. Once it has printed, the sheet exists, and we handle it as a return instead.

I need it for a particular date. Will it arrive in time?

Usually — but we would rather check than promise. Send us the date and the destination before you order and we will tell you whether it is realistic, and whether a faster service is worth paying for.

Paper, sizes
& framing

Two finishes, printed from the same remastered file. The paper is what changes.

Should I choose Poster or Fine Art?

Poster is premium 200 gsm semi-gloss stock: vivid contrast, a subtle sheen, our best-value option. Fine Art is museum-grade cotton matte paper printed with 12-colour archival pigment inks: no glare, deeper blacks, rated for 100+ years. For space imagery we recommend Fine Art — it is the finish we hang in our own studio.

Is a frame included?

No. Your print arrives rolled in a rigid protective tube, wrapped in acid-free tissue. Every size we sell matches a standard frame format, so an off-the-shelf frame fits and you can hang it the day it lands.

Are sizes in centimetres or inches?

Both. Each product page shows the unit that matches your country and switches to the other in one tap. The largest panoramas run well past 100 cm.

Will the colours look like they do on my screen?

Closer than most screens suggest. Every file is remastered and proofed on the paper it ships on, printed on colour-calibrated machines. Blacks in particular go deeper on Fine Art matte than a backlit monitor can show you.

Will the print fade?

Fine Art uses archival pigment inks rated for over 100 years in normal indoor light. Poster uses fade-resistant inks that hold for decades. Neither wants a full day of direct sun on it — no print does.

How should I care for it?

Unroll it flat and give it a day to relax before framing. Handle the edges, keep it out of direct sunlight and away from a radiator, and behind glass it will outlast the wall it hangs on.

Can I order a size that is not listed?

Often, yes. Custom sizes, panoramas and commissioned work all start with an e-mail to adam@astrography.com.

The images
themselves

Where the photographs come from, and what we do to them before they reach paper.

About the studio →
Are these real photographs?

Yes. Every image is original photography — from the NASA, ESA, Hubble and JWST public archives, from observatory data, and from Adam’s own telescopes. Nothing here is generated, and nothing is an automatic upscale.

What do you do to the raw data?

Deep-space data does not arrive as a picture. It arrives as stacks of exposures in narrow wavelengths, and somebody has to decide what it should look like. We calibrate and remaster it by hand: colour, contrast and framing are editorial decisions made in the studio, and every file is proofed on paper before it goes into the shop.

Why can I see grain in the image?

Because it is a photograph of something extraordinarily far away and extraordinarily faint. Grain is part of deep-space imaging at that distance. We could smooth it out, and the picture would stop being a photograph, so we leave it where it is.

Who are the photographers?

Adam Jesionkiewicz, and a small group of astrophotographers we work with by name — among them Robert Gendler, Damian Peach, Michael Sidonio, Pablo Carlos Budassi and Galactic Hunter. Every print names the person behind the image.

Are the prints limited editions?

Some are. A limited edition says so in its title and carries the edition size with the format — Edition of 500, for instance. Everything else is an open edition, printed when you order it.

Can I sell my astrophotography through Astrography?

We work with a small, invited group of photographers rather than an open marketplace. If you shoot deep sky and think your work belongs here, write to adam@astrography.com with a link to your portfolio.

Can I use an image for something other than hanging it?

Buying a print buys the print. Licensing for publishing, film, teaching or a commercial project is a separate conversation, and a welcome one — write to adam@astrography.com.

Personalized
star maps

A real sky, from a real date and a real place. You build it in the browser and see it before you pay.

Create your sky →
What is a personalized star map?

A print of the sky exactly as it stood over one place at one moment — a birth, a wedding, the night someone said yes. You set the date, the time and the location, add a dedication, and see the finished map before anything is printed.

How accurate is the sky?

Every star is plotted from real astronomical catalogues for the date, time and coordinates you enter. It is not a decorative pattern — somebody who knows the sky can check it against that night and find it correct.

Can I see it before I order?

Yes. The editor redraws the map as you change the design, the wording or the moment. Nothing goes to print until what is on the screen is what you want.

What should the dedication say?

Short works best: a name, a place, a date, one line. The map already carries the moment — the words only have to point at it.

Does it arrive framed?

No — unframed, rolled in a protective tube, like every other print. If you want it framed before you give it to someone, order a little earlier than you otherwise would.

Can I return a personalized map?

The 30-day guarantee covers personalized maps as well. If the print does not match what you set in the editor, or it arrives damaged, we reprint it at our cost.

Returns,
payment
& invoices

Sixty days, then the practical details. Returns go to the studio address — never to the registered office.

Contact & addresses →
Can I return a print?

Yes — you have 30 days from delivery. Hang it, live with it, decide slowly. If it does not make the wall better, send it back for a full refund. No questions asked.

How do I start a return?

Write to support@astrography.com first, so we can tell you what to put in the parcel and confirm where it goes. Returns go to the studio in Jawczyce — never to the registered office in Warsaw.

What if it arrives damaged?

Send us a photo. Damaged and misprinted prints are replaced free of charge, with nothing to post back and no form to fill in — including when you only found the damage after opening the tube.

When do I get my money back?

We refund as soon as the return reaches the studio and we have checked it. The money goes back to the card or account you paid with; how fast it shows up after that is your bank’s decision, usually a few working days.

Which payment methods do you take?

All major cards, PayPal and Apple Pay, plus whatever else your device offers in the checkout.

Is paying safe?

Payment happens inside Shopify’s PCI-compliant checkout, over an encrypted connection. Your card number never reaches us, and we never store it.

Can I get an invoice with a VAT number?

Yes, for EU businesses. Put the VAT number in the order notes or e-mail it to support, and we will issue the invoice to the registered company details.

Do you sell gift cards?

Yes. An Astrography gift card arrives by e-mail within minutes, in amounts from $40 to $500, and leaves the choice of sky to the person receiving it.

Still wondering? Ask us — a person writes back.
