The mosaic, which captures the grandeur of our neighboring galaxy, is the result of approximately 90 hours of cumulative exposure. It was created using image data acquired remotely from the Nighthawk Observatory with a 20-inch RCOS f/8 Carbon Truss Ritchey-Chrétien telescope, equipped with an RCOS Field Flattener and Corrector. The data was meticulously processed using CCDAutoPilot2, Software Bisque Paramount ME, and an SBIG STL-11000XM camera.

Robert Gendler is a renowned American physician, amateur astronomer, and astrophotographer, who has made significant contributions to digital astrophotography as both a pioneer and a respected artist. His Andromeda Galaxy mosaic was acknowledged by Astronomy Magazine as one of the most beautiful astronomical images and was featured in the 2008 Guinness Book of Records. Gendler's photographs have also been commemorated in stamps, documentaries, and award ceremonies.
