The Rocketdyne F-1, or simply F-1, is a gas-generator cycle rocket engine developed in the late 1950s in the United States. The Saturn V rocket, which was instrumental in the Apollo program, employed five F-1 engines in its S-IC first stage. To this day, the F-1 holds the record as the most powerful single-chamber, liquid-propellant rocket engine.
