    Most of our prints are produced directly in our studio in Europe, where we oversee the entire process — from color calibration and paper selection to final quality control. This allows us to maintain full control over quality and ensure that every print meets the level of detail, sharpness, and color accuracy that space imagery deserves.

    Each print is carefully checked before it leaves our studio, so you receive a piece crafted with the care and attention of a small, specialized studio. In some cases, for certain destinations, prints may be produced through a carefully selected premium print network.

    Customers outside the EU may be charged additional taxes and duties. Information about any payments will be provided by the company delivering the package.

    A psychologist and educator by profession, has been engaged in astrophotography since 2020, combining science, art, and travel. She has photographed, among others, the Milky Way in Europe and Hawaii, the aurora borealis in Norway and Iceland, a total solar eclipse in the USA, and southern sky objects in Namibia.

    She develops projects, publishes her photographs in astronomical magazines, and conducts workshops and lectures. Her work has been distinguished twice within NASA’s Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) project (2021 and 2025).

    The image captures the phenomenon known as the “Diamond Ring Effect”, which occurs in the final seconds before the beginning of totality during a solar eclipse.

    This striking visual moment arises when the last ray of sunlight passes through the rugged lunar terrain, producing a brilliant flash that resembles a solitary diamond set against the delicate glow of the solar corona. Surrounding the Moon’s disk, the outer solar corona is faintly visible, along with pink prominences — hot plasma arcs extending above the Sun’s surface.

    Framing and Composition Context

    The composition centers on the precise moment of transition between the partial and total phases of the eclipse. Its minimalist aesthetic — the dark lunar disk framed by the ethereal glow of the corona — directs full attention to the unique geometry and physical dynamics of the phenomenon. The image was carefully timed to capture the perfect instant of the “diamond’s” appearance, balancing the brightness of the solar flare with the subtle structure of the corona.

    Image Capture Process

    The photograph was taken during a solar eclipse expedition in April 2024 across the U.S. state of Arkansas. The observing team traveled between several locations in pursuit of clear skies within the path of totality. On the day of the eclipse, a brief window of stable weather conditions allowed the capture of this fleeting yet spectacular moment with perfect atmospheric clarity. 

    Location and Observing Conditions

    The image was taken in Russellville, Arkansas (USA) — one of the central locations along the path of totality. Observing conditions were favorable, with minimal cloud cover and good transparency. The entire total phase lasted only a few minutes, while the Diamond Ring Effect itself appeared for just a fraction of a second, requiring precise exposure timing and continuous visual monitoring.
