Explore the captivating beauty of the cosmos with Pinwheel Galaxy (M 101) by Bogdan Jarzyna

Bogdan Jarzyna's high-quality work brings this spectacular celestial object into your space, showcasing the intricate spiral arms and vibrant core of the Pinwheel Galaxy.

What is Pinwheel Galaxy?

Also known as Messier 101, M101, or NGC 5457, the Pinwheel Galaxy is a stunning face-on spiral galaxy located 21 million light-years away in the constellation Ursa Major. First discovered by Pierre Méchain on March 27, 1781, it was later confirmed by Charles Messier and included in his famous Messier Catalogue.

On February 28, 2006, NASA and the European Space Agency released an incredibly detailed image of the Pinwheel Galaxy, which was the largest and most detailed image of a galaxy ever taken by the Hubble Space Telescope at the time. This breathtaking image was composed of 51 individual exposures, complemented by ground-based photos.

Ideal for astronomy enthusiasts, space lovers, and anyone captivated by the wonders of the universe, this print is a stunning addition to any home, office, or educational setting.

Astrophotography equipment serves as a time machine, bringing us closer to the remote objects of the deep cosmos. It's an inspiring pursuit for both the body and mind, well worth the effort involved. Bogdan Jarzyna, a Polish astrophotographer based in Cracow, has spent the last 15 years honing his skills in astrophotography. He has experimented with various optics, focal lengths, and apertures, and has embarked on astro travels to distant locations like Namibia. Currently, Bogdan's preferred setup comprises a TEC140 refractor, a QHY695A camera, and a Paramount MyT mount.
