Experience the cosmic spectacle of "Vortex from Mono Lake" by Marcin Zajac

It's a mesmerizing photograph that captures the dizzying rotation of the night sky over Mono Lake on the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada. This stunning image is the result of a continuous three-hour exposure, showcasing the apparent movement of the stars as they circle around the North Star due to Earth's rotation.

Mono Lake, one of the oldest and saltiest lakes in North America, features dramatic tufa towers that emerge from its surface. These limestone formations are created when underwater springs rich in calcium mix with the lake's carbonate-rich waters, forming rock structures that become exposed as the water level drops. The contrast between the earthly tufa towers and the hypnotic star trails creates a surreal and captivating scene.

Perfect for astronomy enthusiasts, nature lovers, and art aficionados, this high-resolution print brings the enchanting beauty of Mono Lake and the night sky into your home. Let this extraordinary image inspire curiosity and wonder in your space.
