Witness the Explosive Origins of the Universe

Step into the dawn of time with the JADES Transient Survey—a breathtaking window into the universe’s most dramatic moments, as captured by the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST).

This isn’t just another space image. It’s a record of cosmic fireworks from when the universe was young, wild, and forging the elements that make up everything we know.

Why This Image Belongs in Your Collection

At Astrography, we curate only the most extraordinary astronomical images—those that not only reveal the universe’s secrets but also captivate as works of art. The JADES Transient Survey is a testament to this mission, blending scientific discovery with visual wonder.

Each print is crafted to museum and gallery-grade standards, with a lifespan of over 200 years, or available as a budget-friendly poster for accessible inspiration.

    The Story Behind the Image

The JADES Transient Survey used the unparalleled power of JWST to peer deeper into space—and further back in time—than ever before.

By comparing images taken a year apart, astronomers identified 79 supernovae in a patch of sky no larger than a grain of rice held at arm’s length. That’s ten times more early-universe supernovae than were previously known, including the most distant ever confirmed—an explosion from when the universe was just 1.8 billion years old.

These supernovae are cosmic milestones. Their light, stretched by the expansion of the universe, reveals how the cosmos grew and evolved. Some of these explosions are “standard candles” used to measure the universe’s expansion, while others are the violent deaths of massive stars, seeding the cosmos with the elements that would one day form planets, life, and us.

    Who Will Treasure This Image?

    • Art Collectors: Own a piece that bridges science and fine art, a true conversation starter for any collection.
