Astrography presents one of the largest views of the galaxy's center ever taken from the surface of the Earth. It contains nearly 3 gigapixels of processed data and 4 million countable stars. It's just breathtaking.

The artist took 150 different pictures and combined them into a mosaic spanning over 50 degrees on the night sky* depicting the center of the Milky Way - our Home Galaxy. This single picture contains not only millions of stars, but also a variety of deep sky objects. Thanks to an extremely high resolution, you can wander across the print, discovering the different stages of a star’s life, from birth to death. At first you can notice the dark patches of interstellar dust- those clouds will collapse under their own gravity and forge new stars. Then you may notice bright red emission nebulae, where new hot stars ionize surrounding gas, making it glow. But those colors won’t last forever- the intense stellar wind will blow the surrounding gas away, leaving open star clusters behind. Closing the life cycle are diffuse red nebulas, remnants of the most violent explosions in the Universe – Supernovae. Sit back and enjoy the richness of stellar life in a single picture.
