    ISS Transit During Solar Eclipse by Bartosz Wojczyński

    The International Space Station, constantly orbiting our planet at breakneck speed, occasionally passes directly in front of the Sun when observed from Earth. This type of event is called a solar transit and can be regularly observed in narrow paths of visibility from the surface of our planet. 

    On June 10th 2021, one such transit was visible from Europe during a partial solar eclipse. In this photograph, the ISS can be seen passing near the silhouette of the Moon, while the background is filled by the surface of our Sun.
