The northern lights are one of the most unique phenomena that can be observed in Earth’s sky. Lovers of the night sky organize trips to the far north only to observe this natural spectacle.
Despite its beauty, the aurora is a very violent phenomenon resulting from the head-on collision of billions of accelerated solar wind particles with the atmosphere of our planet. This results in a very fleeting phenomenon that can appear unannounced and disappear just as suddenly. The photo was taken in October 2018 in Iceland and is a panorama of six frames taken in several dozen seconds.
