A Celestial Story Worth Displaying

This remarkable image showcases a clash among members of the famous Stephan's Quintet, revealing an assortment of stars across a wide color range - from young, vibrant blue stars to aging, red giants. More than just a pretty picture, it's a dramatic narrative of cosmic evolution captured at a single moment in time.

The Scientific Marvel Behind the Beauty

This portrait of Stephan's Quintet, also known as Hickson Compact Group 92, was captured by the Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC3) aboard the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope. While the name suggests five interacting galaxies, studies have revealed that the leftmost galaxy (NGC 7320) is actually a foreground galaxy about seven times closer to Earth than the rest of the group.

Three of the galaxies display distorted shapes, elongated spiral arms, and long gaseous tidal tails filled with myriad star clusters - compelling evidence of their gravitational encounters. These interactions have ignited a frenzy of star birth in the central pair of galaxies, all set against a rich backdrop of distant galaxies.

The image's brilliant colors trace the ages of different stellar populations, revealing that star formation occurred across hundreds of millions of years. Hubble's infrared capabilities allow us to peer through dust curtains to witness star groupings invisible to optical light alone.

First discovered by Edouard M. Stephan in 1877, Stephan's Quintet holds the distinction of being the first compact galaxy group ever identified. This specific observation was captured in July and August 2009, as part of the Hubble Servicing Mission 4 Early Release Observations.

Questions, answered

Anything else — support@astrography.com, answered the same day.

Is this a real photograph?

Yes. Every image is original photography — NASA, ESA, Hubble and JWST archives, observatory data, or Adam’s own telescopes — faithfully remastered in our studio. Any visible grain is inherent to deep-space photography at extreme distance. We keep it, because it’s part of what makes the image real.

How long does delivery to the USA take?

Every print is made to order in 2–4 business days, then delivered in 3–5 more. Typical door-to-door time: 5–9 business days, fully tracked.

Will I pay customs, duties, or import fees?

No. Shipping is shown and paid at checkout, and after that there are no surprise charges — no customs, duties, or carrier fees on delivery.

Should I choose Poster or Fine Art?

Poster (semi-gloss) is our best-value option with vivid contrast and a subtle sheen. Fine Art (matte) is museum-grade cotton paper with archival pigment inks rated for 100+ years and zero glare — the finish we recommend for space imagery and the one we hang in our own studio.

Is a frame included?

No — your print arrives rolled in a rigid protective tube. All sizes match standard frames, so any off-the-shelf frame fits.

What if it arrives damaged?

We replace damaged or misprinted prints free of charge, no return shipping required.

Can I return it?

Yes — you have 30 days. Hang it, live with it, decide slowly. If it doesn’t make the wall better, send it back for a full refund, no questions asked.
