The story behind Apollo 16: The Moon Flag Poster
This striking photograph captures astronaut John W. Young, commander of Apollo 16, mid-leap as he proudly salutes the US flag on the lunar surface at the Descartes landing site during the mission's first extravehicular activity (EVA). The image, taken by lunar module pilot Charles M. Duke Jr., beautifully encapsulates the spirit of human endeavor and achievement.
To the left stands the Lunar Module "Orion," with the Lunar Roving Vehicle parked beside it. Partially obscured in the LM’s shadow is the Far Ultraviolet Camera/Spectrograph. The imposing Stone Mountain serves as the backdrop to this triumphant moment. While Young and Duke explored the Descartes highlands on the Moon, astronaut Thomas K. Mattingly II orbited above in the Command and Service Modules "Casper.

Is this a real photograph?
Yes. Every image is original photography — NASA, ESA, Hubble and JWST archives, observatory data, or Adam’s own telescopes — faithfully remastered in our studio. Any visible grain is inherent to deep-space photography at extreme distance. We keep it, because it’s part of what makes the image real.
How long does delivery to the USA take?
Every print is made to order in 2–4 business days, then delivered in 3–5 more. Typical door-to-door time: 5–9 business days, fully tracked.
Will I pay customs, duties, or import fees?
